Powell Gilbert dominates UK patent courts, finds new research
 
First ever Litigation Tracker from The Lawyer puts leading IP boutique on top
 
LONDON – Leading specialist IP law firm Powell Gilbert LLP has been named as the most active UK law firm in the Patents Court in 2015 and 2016, according to the recently released Litigation Tracker from The Lawyer.
 
The first-of-its-kind court ranking identified that, within the patents arena, Powell Gilbert clocked up a total 60 days in court for 26 different cases in 2015 and the first three quarters of 2016, putting them far ahead of rival firms when it comes to active IP litigation. 
 
In addition, the firm was the only specialist firm of any type to appear in the top 16 most active firms overall, which considered litigation of all types across all major UK courts. 
 
Taken together, the rankings underscore Powell Gilbert’s position as the pre-eminent litigation team on intellectual property issues across sectors spanning the life sciences, technology, consumer goods, and energy and renewables, among others.
