Jodie Goonawardena is the firm’s fifth Associate hire in just over a year
LONDON – Specialist IP law firm Powell Gilbert LLP today announces that it has expanded its team of leading IP lawyers with the appointment of Jodie Goonawardena as an Associate.
Jodie joins Powell Gilbert from Davies Collison Cave, one of the leading IP law firms in Australia, where she worked on a range of contentious multi-jurisdictional IP matters, with a particular focus on pharmaceutical patent litigation, utilising her scientific and technical expertise in biochemistry and drug design.
Her experience of contentious IP matters also extends to patent litigation in the mining & engineering, consumer goods, and software sectors, as well as trade mark litigation, contentious copyright, designs, consumer law and confidential information matters.
Jodie graduated from the Australian National University with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Science, with a major in biochemistry. She is the fifth Associate hire the firm has made in just over a year, following the appointments of James Bergus in September, Douglas Jayatilaka in August, Adam Mackinnon in April, and Theo Cooper in October of last year.
