Gillian has experience in representing clients on a range of IP rights, including patents, copyright, passing off and design right, in both the UK High Court and Court of Appeal. 

Gillian has advised clients relating to matters as diverse as genomics, GPS technology, designer furniture, arcade games and DNA microarrays. Gillian also spent time on secondment to the legal department of a leading global IT company.

Gillian's technical background is particularly relevant to the advice she has provided to biotechnology and pharmaceutical clients in relation to IP litigation as well as freedom to operate and due diligence matters. In particular, Gillian has been involved in the two key biotechnology cases recently heard in the UK Patents Court.

Prior to joining Powell Gilbert in March 2007, Gillian trained and qualified as a Solicitor at Bristows.
